Introduction to Cooperative Accounting Program between Xinxiang University and Northern College of Applied Arts & Technology, Canada

The cooperative program between Xinxiang University and Northern College of Applied Arts & Technology (short for Northern College), Canada, is based on the “Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Program” and approved by the Education Department of Henan Province. Through introducing excellent education resources, advanced education concepts and scientific education modes, Xinxiang University will vigorously promote the internationalization of courses, teachers and management, aiming to cultivate high-class practical talents with virtues, knowledge, skills and innovative spirit. Presently, Xinxiang University has established four cooperative programs listed in National Enrollment Plan of Higher Education through Entrance Examination such as Early Childhood Education, Construction Engineering Technology, Electrical Information Engineering Technology and Accounting Computerization. In 2016, accounting program will continue to enroll students.

As a public college founded in Ontario in 1967, Northern College now has four campuses in Timmins, Kirkland Lake, Haileybury and Moosonee. With the goals to serve the local economic development and train vocational talents, Northern College has formed a well-functioned professional talent cultivation system through close connection with enterprises and industries.

In accordance with the course syllabus made by both parties, students will study for three years in Xinxiang University and those who complete the required credits will be granted Junior College Diploma of Xinxiang University, at the same time, those who meet the requirements of Northern College will be granted Junior College Diploma of Northern. In addition, three students will be recommended to have one-semester free study in Northern College after they pass Canadian English Proficiency Test. After graduation, the students who meet the requirements of language and specialized courses can study for bachelor degree in relevant universities.

With focuses on English and computer skills, this program aims to cultivate students' abilities in information search, overseas further study and employment competitiveness. In the student-first spirit and with an emphasis on personality development, the program will cultivate students' abilities in self-study, innovation and practice. Over three years study, students will be of global vision, tolerant mind and team spirit, master cross-cultural communication skills and possess awareness and capability of international competition.

Accounting program (junior college degree)

Goals: the program is aimed to cultivate financial accounting, financial management and audit talents with global views for cross-border e-commerce SMEs and financial institutions and accounting firms.

Courses: Management Science, Finance and Banking, Economic Law, Basic Accounting, Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Auditing, Introduction to E-commerce, Foundation of International Trade, Accounting Information System, Accounting Post Comprehensive Training, Accounting Development, Investment Principles.

Employment: To work in financial accounting, financial analysis and management as well as auditing departments in cross-border e-commerce enterprises, financial institutions and accounting firms.
