Blaine D. Hone, Vice-president of Stevens-Henager College Visited School of International Education

On March, 6, 2017, Blaine D. Hone, vice-president of Stevens-Henager College and Wu Can, dean of Chinese affairs, International College, Wei Yunlong, director of China Office visited School of International Education of our university. Both sides had a deep talk over cooperative education program. Zhou Yong, dean of School of International Education, Yun Deyu, vice dean and Zhao Guomei, secretary of teaching and research attended the meeting. Both sides have high aspirations for future cooperation.

After the meeting, Blaine D. Hone, vice-president of Stevens-Henager College and his delegation gave a lecture on Co-op Education USA in Building A11-0423 to students from relevant schools. Founded in 1891, Stevens-Henager College is located in Salt Lake City, Utah, and has overseas students from 26 countries; Stevens-Henager College lays emphasis on teaching quality and runs small-sized class with no more than 15 students; Stevens-Henager College is approved by ACCSC and Chinese Ministry of Education and focuses on cultivation and output of top practical management talents. Its employment rate of management talents ranks the first in different universities in Utah, and furthermore, it successively got the golden award of Top Management Courses in Utah for three years. Meanwhile, Stevens-Henager College is approved by SEVIS and American Ministry of Education as CPT(Curriculum Practical Training)college.

Currently, the employment rate of international postgraduate students amounts to 100%. Blaine has introduced the 15 months of CPT program in detail, which enjoys the advantages of low expenses, installment, overseas practical experiences, and salary. After graduation, students can not only get the postgraduate degree diploma but have the opportunity to get American work visa. This meeting makes students get well-known with overseas study, job-hunting, and entrepreneurship under international background and sets up a platform for studying and working abroad. This meeting has achieved good results.
