Fred Gibbons, President of Northern Visited Our University
On October 20th, 2015, Fred Gibbons, president of Northern College visited our university and negotiated on Sino-Canadian joint educational programs. President Liu Xingyou, vice-president Wang Xuannian, director of Foreign Affairs Office Li ping and Dean of School of International Education and Exchange Zhou Yong and other faculty members attended the meeting. This meeting was hosted by vice president Wang Xuannian.
President Liu Xingyou extended a warm welcome to the delegates on behalf of Xinxiang University, and introduced the history, size, recent develop plan of our university and the present status of the joint programs. Relying on the joint programs, our university has brought in high-quality teaching resources, advanced concepts of running schools of foreign countries and their management models, which deepened our educational reform and built a pluralistic coexistence of international educational environment, and laid a solid foundation for talents cultivation. He hopes that in the future cooperation, based on the principle of “Cooperation, Development and Win-win”, we can further develop teachers training and overseas students programs to make good use of the advantages of both universities and provide better teaching resources for the students.
President Fred Gibbons felt it an honor to have been invited again to visit our university and introduced their teaching experiences, advanced talents training model, and promised to push forward the cooperation and share high quality teaching resources with cooperative partners.
Vice-president Wang Xuannian talked in depth about teachers training and students exchange and other affairs with president Fred Gibbons. In the afternoon, Fred Gibbons took part in the opening ceremony of Grade 2015 and introduced Northern to the students with illustrations and answered the students’ questions about learning and study abroad.
The visit of President Fred Gibbons’ will surely facilitate the cooperation and exchange between Northern and Xinxiang University.
