On the morning of June 26, the Completion Ceremony for Xinxiang University’s 2025 cohort of international students was held in Conference Room A04-104. Leaders and faculty from the Office of International Affairs, the School of Humanities, and the School of International Education, together with all international students of the 2025 cohort and Chinese student representatives, gathered to witness this milestone event.
The ceremony opened with the solemn national anthem of the People’s Republic of China.
Ms. Liang Kun, Associate Dean of the School of Humanities, delivered the first address. She fully acknowledged the remarkable progress the international students had made in both language proficiency and professional competence, and encouraged them to maintain their curiosity and passion for the world, no matter where their futures may take them. She expressed her hope that the knowledge and character they had gained at Xinxiang University would serve as a solid foundation for their life ahead.
Ms. Sun Yufan, a faculty representative, reviewed the learning journey of the past semester. She was delighted to see how the students had grown—from being reserved and cautious at the beginning to now expressing themselves fluently in Chinese. This transformation filled her with pride. She encouraged the students to continue their enthusiasm for the Chinese language and to carry the knowledge and friendships they had gained at Xinxiang University into the wider world.
The ceremony reached its emotional peak when international student representative Ravshanov Rashidjon Rakhimjon Ugli delivered his speech. In fluent Chinese, he sincerely shared his experiences and gains in China, and expressed gratitude to his teachers for their dedicated guidance and to his classmates for their warm companionship. He announced that he would carry these precious memories to South China University of Technology for further studies, and that he would share the real and endearing China with more people.
Amidst warm applause, Mr. Yan Chicheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International Education, read out the list of completers. To the stirring ceremonial music, attending leaders and teachers presented completion certificates to the international students one by one.
The ceremony concluded with a closing address by Mr. Wei Shuangfei, Director of the Office of International Affairs. He extended his congratulations to all completing students and offered three hopes: first, to remain ever curious—integrating language learning into lifelong growth and making Chinese a key to a broader world; second, to treasure the bonds of friendship—cherishing the teacher-student and peer relationships forged in China, with Xinxiang University always being a home away from home; and third, to embrace the responsibility of cross-cultural bridge-building—serving as a link between China and the world, as ambassadors of Chinese culture and guardians of international friendship.
The ceremony drew to a close with a group photo of all faculty and students. As Xinxiang University’s first cohort of international students, these graduates are not only witnesses to the university’s internationalization efforts but also its first calling card to the world. Their successful completion has built momentum for the university’s continued deepening of international Chinese language education and its expansion of global engagement. Building on this milestone, the university will further improve its support and management systems for international students, actively foster platforms for exchange between Chinese and international faculty and students, and contribute more to the institution’s opening-up and international education endeavors.
