To further improve the management of international students in China and strengthen the capacity building of international student counselor teams, the "2026 Henan Province Training Course on Enhancing Comprehensive Competence of International Student Management Teams," hosted by the Henan Provincial Department of Education, was held from April 9 to 10, 2026, at the Party School of the Xinxiang Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Our university attached great importance to this learning opportunity. Vice President Han Hui, Dean Li Juan of the International Education College, and Director Wei Shuangfei of the Foreign Affairs Office led a team of frontline international student counselors and faculty members to participate in the training.

The training course focused on the high-quality development of international student education in China. Renowned experts and scholars in the field of international student education were invited to deliver in-depth lectures on a range of core topics. The sessions were closely aligned with practical work, covering policies and regulations regarding international student education, exploration of new models for national education, cross-cultural communication and public opinion response, analysis of the international situation, and the sharing of best practices and outcomes from peer institutions. These provided valuable guidance for our university's management of international student affairs.

During the group discussion session, our attendees engaged in in-depth exchanges with peers from across the province on a series of topics related to guidelines and standards for international student management, based on their own work experience.

The training achieved a balance between policy orientation and practical depth. Moving forward, our university will take this training as an opportunity to systematically review the learning outcomes, optimize the management and service system for international students, continuously enhance the comprehensive competence of the counselor team, and contribute to the high-quality development of our university's internationalization efforts.
