On the morning of December 12, Xinxiang University held the opening ceremony for its 2025 cohort of international students in the lecture hall on the first floor of the south building of the library. President Li Guanghui attended the ceremony, along with Wei Shuangfei, Director of the Office of International Affairs; Li Jinyu, Party Secretary and Dean of the School of Humanities; Zhou Yong, Party Secretary of the College of International Education; all staff from the Office of International Affairs and the College of International Education; student representatives; representatives of teachers and students from the International Chinese Education program of the School of Humanities; and all 2025 international students. The ceremony was hosted by Li Juan, Dean of the College of International Education.

The ceremony commenced with the solemn national anthem of the People’s Republic of China. All teachers and students watched the university’s promotional video, gaining a vivid understanding of the institution’s profound historical heritage, distinctive educational features, and beautiful campus environment.

Li Guanghui extended a warm welcome to the international students. Drawing from his own overseas study and research experiences, he encouraged everyone to cherish this academic journey and shared three expectations: first, to embrace differences and build bridges of cultural understanding through diverse exchanges; second, to remain passionate, overcome language and environmental challenges, and grow through exploration; and third, to stay open-minded and inclusive, actively participate in on- and off-campus practices, and broaden their global perspectives.

Anle, an international student representative from Iran, expressed her anticipation and determination for the new campus life. She stated that she would cherish this hard-earned learning opportunity, approach professional knowledge and Chinese culture with an open mind, and engage in mutual exchange and learning with classmates from various countries to collectively write an unforgettable chapter of their study abroad experience.

Teachers Fu Li from the College of International Education and Liu Wandi from the School of Humanities spoke as faculty representatives. They unanimously expressed that all teachers would provide support for the international students’studies and daily lives, helping them overcome challenges related to language, culture, and adaptation. They also encouraged the students to“step out more”and understand China and experience Henan through real urban life and cultural settings. Teacher Liu Wandi made three promises with the students:“Don’t be afraid of making mistakes, go out more, and take the initiative to make friends,”wishing them a rewarding experience of knowledge, friendship, and growth at Xinxiang University.

Amidst the melodious and uplifting notes of the university anthem Muye Yingyang (Soaring Eagle Over Muye), Li Guanghui presented the university badges to the international students. Finally, all participating teachers and students took a group photo to capture this precious moment.

The opening ceremony was solemn yet warm, with a compact schedule and substantial content, fully reflecting Xinxiang University’s high regard for international education and its humanistic care. The addition of the first cohort of international students not only infuses the campus with new vitality and multicultural atmosphere but also marks a solid step forward in the university’s commitment to open education.

Moving forward, the university will continue to refine its training and management services for international students, actively build platforms for exchange between Chinese and international teachers and students, promote mutual learning among civilizations and cross-cultural resonance, and strive tirelessly to cultivate global talents with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication skills.
