From June 29 to July 10, ten outstanding students majoring in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation from the International Education College of our university, led by teacher Fu Li, embarked on a 12-day summer research camp at the Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU) in Brest, Belarus. This marks the second time our college has organized students to participate in the summer camp hosted by BSTU, aiming to broaden students' international perspectives and enhance their cross-cultural communication and collaboration skills through immersive learning and practical experiences.

The summer camp featured a diverse range of activities, encompassing academic exploration, cultural immersion, and more. In the academic segment, professors from BSTU delivered a series of targeted and highly specialized lectures aligned with the core disciplines of the collaborative program, further strengthening the students' theoretical foundation. The students also visited key university laboratories, where they observed advanced research equipment and listened to detailed explanations from professors and researchers about current research hotspots and breakthrough project developments. The interactive sessions in the laboratories were dynamic, with students engaging in in-depth discussions with researchers on topics related to Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation. The vibrant academic atmosphere sparked their enthusiasm for deeper exploration of their field. Additionally, the students visited local renowned enterprises to gain insights into industry trends and cutting-edge developments.

On the cultural front, BSTU meticulously prepared introductory courses on local language basics, traditional customs, and social etiquette, helping students quickly adapt to local life and appreciate the unique charm of a foreign culture. The students also visited the Brest Hero Fortress, where they reflected on the solemnity and resilience of wartime history; explored the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, marveling at the wonders of nature; and toured the Railway Technology Museum to learn about Belarus' advancements in transportation. Interactive experiences such as hand-painting traditional Belarusian Easter eggs and learning folk dances allowed the students to deeply appreciate the warmth and uniqueness of the foreign culture, fostering a greater understanding and appreciation of diverse traditions.

This summer research camp is a significant practical achievement in the deepening collaboration between Xinxiang University and BSTU. It effectively enhanced the students' global perspectives, professional competencies, and cross-cultural communication skills. Moving forward, the International Education College will continue to create opportunities for students, encouraging them to excel academically while broadening their horizons, honing their scientific and rational thinking, and actively participating in international cooperation and cultural exchanges.
