International Education School Holds Guidance Session on Postgraduate Studies and High-Quality Employment

This year, students from the International Education School achieved outstanding results in postgraduate entrance exams with an admission rate of 46.09%. To help the next cohort better clarify their future development paths and scientifically plan their academic and career trajectories, the International Education School held a guidance session on postgraduate studies and high-quality employment for 2022-level students majoring in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (Cooperative Program) on the afternoon of June 5 in Classroom A11-225.

Attendees included Liu Yana, Vice Dean of the International Education School; Du Chuan, Vice Dean of the School of Mechatronics Engineering; Dr. Liu Bing from the School of Mechatronics Engineering; Chang Chengcheng, Counselor from the International Education School; three outstanding student representatives from the School of Mechatronics Engineering who were admitted to postgraduate programs in 2025; and all students from the 2022 Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation (Cooperative Program). The session was chaired by Liu Yana.

Liu Yana elaborated on the significance of the guidance session. She pointed out that facing the dual choices of further education and employment, the school aims to build a high-quality communication platform, strengthen students' awareness of academic planning and forward-looking decision-making capabilities, laying a solid foundation for their growth paths.

The three outstanding admitted students shared their experiences unreservedly. Covering topics such as scientific planning for postgraduate exams, efficient time management strategies, selecting high-quality study materials, core course learning methods, key exam techniques, and mindset adjustment during preparation, they shared personal experiences and practical insights, providing the 2022 cohort with highly valuable "practical tips" for success.

Dr. Liu Bing, drawing from his solid academic journey, vividly depicted the research landscape of postgraduate studies and the growth trajectory of adhering to academic ideals. He emphasized the perseverance, spirit of exploration, and innovative thinking required for academic research, charting a clear yet challenging academic advancement path for students aspiring to further their studies.

Du Chuan, adopting a macro perspective, conducted an in-depth analysis of the current employment situation for university graduates using detailed data and cases. He objectively revealed the severe challenges in the employment environment while accurately highlighting the unique employment advantages and development potential of students in Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation. Du Chuan also provided specific guidance on effective employment strategies and diversified job search channels, broadening students' perspectives on employment.

At the conclusion of the session, Liu Yana delivered a concise summary. She encouraged all 2022 students to fully utilize the rich resources and platforms provided by the school, combine them with their own interests and strengths, engage in careful planning, persist diligently, and strive to write their own brilliant future chapters.

The guidance session received enthusiastic responses for its substantial, targeted content. Attendees expressed that through the sharing by school leaders, teachers, and outstanding seniors, they not only gained clarity on paths for postgraduate studies and employment but also acquired confidence and motivation, preparing them well for future choices.
