On the evening of September 20, the opening ceremony for the Class of 2024 of the School of International Education was held in the East Lecture Hall on the first floor of the South Building of the Library. Attendees included Zhou Yong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of International Education; Liu Yana, Vice Dean; Chen Bo, Secretary of the Youth League Branch; Chen Nan, Director of the Student Affairs Office; Omes Dmitry Vladimirovich, a foreign faculty member; counselors Chang Chengcheng and Fu Li; and all 2024 freshmen. The ceremony was presided over by Yan Chicheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the School.
The ceremony commenced with the solemn national anthem.
Zhou Yong delivered a welcome speech on behalf of the faculty, welcoming new students to the School of International Education. He emphasized that the school provides students with a comprehensive development environment through professional faculty, a robust disciplinary system, abundant international resources, and globally oriented academic platforms. For their upcoming university life, he proposed three expectations: first, to "listen to the Party, follow the Party, and strengthen ideals and beliefs"; second, to set clear goals and plan effectively; and third, to combine theory with practice to enhance personal capabilities holistically.
Foreign faculty representative Omes Dmitry Vladimirovich introduced himself to the newcomers, highlighting the deep collaborative partnership between Xinxiang University’s School of International Education and the Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, and Automation program at Brest State Technical University in Belarus. He pledged to deliver high-quality teaching with full enthusiasm and dedication.
Counselor Fu Li warmly welcomed the freshmen and underscored the significance of their college journey. She shared four insights: establishing life goals, fostering an innovative spirit, mastering language skills, and maintaining an optimistic mindset.
Freshman representative Lei Xinhang drew from his unique military experience to inspire peers, urging them to become diligent learners, inquisitive scholars, and resilient individuals who embody the spirit of Xinxiang University.
