On May 7, 2025, Xinxiang University and the University of Bolton held an online educational exchange meeting. Representatives from the University of Bolton included Zubair Hanslot, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Alla Kesava Rao, Chief Strategy Officer; Yusuf Giga, Head of External Affairs; and others. Representatives from Xinxiang University included President Wang Xiaojun, Vice President Han Hui, and leaders from the Office of International Affairs, International Education Institute, College of Chemistry and Materials Engineering, College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, College of Computer and Information Engineering, and other departments. The meeting was chaired by Vice President Han Hui.
In his opening remarks, President Wang Xiaojun reviewed the previous achievements in international collaboration between the two institutions. He then introduced Xinxiang University’s history, practical experience in international exchanges, and the distinctive advantages of its proposed cooperative programs. He emphasized that Xinxiang University has always adhered to an open approach to education, accumulating extensive experience through years of international engagement. Programs such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics Engineering, and New Energy Materials and Devices align closely with the University of Bolton’s strengths. President Wang expressed hope that this event would serve as a platform for multi-level and multi-dimensional practical cooperation in cultural exchanges, academic research, scientific innovation, and more, promoting two-way mobility of students and scholars, and contributing further to Sino-British educational collaboration and local socio-economic development.
Zubair Hanslot, in his speech, highlighted the University of Bolton’s 200-year history and its academic excellence in engineering, materials science, computer science, business, and other fields. He affirmed the strong alignment between the two universities’ programs and expressed eagerness to establish collaborative partnerships. He also extended an invitation for Xinxiang University faculty and students to visit Bolton. Alla Kesava Rao and Yusuf Giga further elaborated on specific details of the proposed collaboration.
The representatives engaged in in-depth discussions and reached multiple consensus points.
This meeting charted a clear path for future in-depth cooperation between the two universities. Both sides pledged to work diligently to advance preparatory efforts and ensure the early realization of collaborative projects.
