Sino-US Joint Education Program 2021 Freshmen Enrollment Instruction & Mid-term Teaching Quality Check Launched by the School of International Education

During Oct 12-14, 2021, a delegation of three people including Hou Jieying from the US Bay Path University China Office visited our university and carried out the Sino-US joint education program 2021 freshmen enrollment instruction & mid-term teaching quality check.

On the evening of Oct 12, we held 2021 Biotechnology (co-organized) freshmen welcome meeting and 2019 and 2020 Biotechnology (co-organized) exchange meeting in the conference hall A01, where Jill, Vice President of Bay Path University, attended via online video. Liu Yana, Liu Yana, Deputy Dean of the School and more attended the meeting. The video conference was chaired by Liu Yana. During the welcome meeting, Jill introduced the teachers, environment, students' learning and basic learning requirements at Bay Path University, warmly welcoming students to study the cooperative programs and encourages them to study abroad. In the end, Jill gave his best wishes to the students in the new semester. During the major exchange meeting, first of all, Jill introduced the current study and employment of Biotechnology, showing the advantages of Biotechnology of Bay Patch University in the US.

Oct 13, Hou Jieying and the delegation visited and listened in a class, checking whether the students have grasped the online courses, and making in-depth exchanges with our bilingual teachers about problems arising in the foreign online class facing the epidemic.

During the program check feedback meeting, Zhou Yong, Dean of the School of International Education, emphasized that for the foreign online teaching, we must conduct strict control upon ideology, adhering to morality and cultivating people, optimizing online and offline teaching and improving the teaching quality. Facing the situation at home and abroad, our university will actively develop resources at home and abroad for cooperative education, especially developing new cooperative education programs in countries along the Belt and Road Initiative. Based on the mid-term teaching quality check and following the evaluation requirements of the Ministry of Education, we should find and solve problem as early as possible, reaching the standards and goals of joint education under the MOE. Zhang Yanfang, Dean of the School of Life Sciences and Basic Medicine, Deputy Dean Guo Hui and Dr. Li Peng attended the meeting.

After three-day check on the mid-term teaching quality, we have had a comprehensive inspection on the foreign online courses and teaching status.  The two sides conducted self-examination upon the requirements of the Ministry of Education on programs evaluation, and formulated measures to handle the problems found.
