In order to implement the Guiding Outline of Ideological and Political Construction of Curriculum in Colleges and Universities, insist on morality and cultivating people, and play the role of teaching team as main force, the curriculum construction as main front and classroom teaching as main channel, from Nov 23 to Dec 10, the School of International Education carries out a series of ideological and political activities in English courses. Liu Jinwei, Deputy Director of the university's teaching supervision and quality monitoring office, Zhou Yong, Dean of the School of International Education, Deputy Dean Yun Deyu, Teaching Secretary Zhao Guomei attended classes as English reading, writing, listening and speaking. In order to play an exemplary and leading role, morning of Dec 7, an observation activity of ideological and political teaching of English courses was carried out in classroom A07-0410, where Associate Professor Lu Jing taught English listening. During the class, in order to improve students' English reading and writing, use English to tell Chinese stories and spread Chinese voices, teachers from the School of Foreign Languages were specially invited to carry out the "Chinese Style Narrative" cultural original activity. The students' compositions for competition were divided into three themes: Chinese customs and humanities, Chinese story narrative and Chinese folk customs.
In recent years, the School of International Education has actively promoted the organic combination of ideological and political courses and ideological and political construction for courses around the fundamental task of cultivating people with morality, actively exploring ideological and political elements in English classes, and improving the effectiveness of educating and cultivating talents. Through the activities, we have made it clearer on how to realize the pluralistic unity of knowledge imparting, value shaping and ability training, and to integrate the ideological and political education as political identity, national awareness, cultural self-confidence and personality development to the inherent knowledge and skills in English courses, so that we could adhere to the cultural self-confidence and realize the all-round talents education in English courses.
